Located in Greene, Iowa Maxson-Frudden
Lumber was originally established as
Montgomery and Wilcox.  They encountered
financial difficulties and sold the business to
Typer and Cave.  Then C.V. Cave became
sole owner, in the 1890's.

C.V. Cave gained a partner, M.H. Sproul,
and they operated the lumber yard continued
to operate until about 1919.

A group of investors from Hampton
purchased the business and kept it for one
year.

In October of 1921, N. Frudden (son of
Charles City's C.M. Frudden) purchased the
lumber yard and remained active for many
years.

Glen R. Maxson later became a partner in
the business and it became known as the
Maxson - Frudden Lumber Company.

Incorporated in 1975, Glen Maxson and
Clyde Frudden were owners.  Managers
were Donald and Art Krull.

Mike Maxson, Glen's son, became
employed in 1979, and two years later
became manager and stockholder of the
business.

In 1994 Mike and Paulette Maxson
purchased the business from Glen R.
Maxson and  Dan Frudden.

Brett and Emily Ascher
became co-owners in 2008.
